Where: Capitol Caltrain station

Who: San Jose Bike Party

Join us Sunday Morning to help test the route for January’s Planes, Trains, and Automobiles Ride.

SJBP relies on cyclists like you to help us test the route before we launch each big event.

Sunday, January 8th. Gathering starts at 10am. Wheels hit the street at 10:30am.

Ride leader: Theo

Ride length: 14ish miles

Ride pace: Casual (10-12 mph average)

Start: Capitol Caltrain* Station Parking Lot; 3400 Monterey Hwy., San Jose 95111

Route: … coming soon!

There will be ~30 minute stops at each of our two prospective regroup spots.

Remember to bring water!

*Make sure you go to the Capitol Caltrain Station Parking Lot near Monterey & Fehren in South San Jose.

We are NOT meeting at the Capitol VTA station in North/East San Jose; or the Capitol VTA Lot on Capitol & Narvaez.

Do not go to either of these two locations!

#CarDrivers: Plenty of Parking

#TrainRiders: CalTrain does not stop at this station on weekends.

#BusRiders: VTA routes 66 or 68

#PlaneTravelers: Your jump coordinates are 37°17’1.20″ N -121°50’17.99″ W

These small group rides are a great way to meet new people, catch up with old friends, or just get out for a social ride.

While you’re pedaling, we’ll count on you to help us keep an eye out for potential route hazards. Your feedback will help us adjust the route and keep all of Bike Party safe!

Things to watch out for:

– road or bike lane construction

– hazardous railroad crossings

– poorly signed lane changes

– tricky turns

– problematic regroup spots

– notable debris in the road

– dangerous traffic patterns

Everyone is welcome to attend this event, but please, read and follow our “How We Ride” guidelines to keep everyone safe and to keep San Jose Bike Party rolling!  We share the road with other vehicles and we frequently ride in the dark.

Having a great time and want to help? We’re always looking for volunteers to help guide riders at corners or to handle other tasks. Talk to any of the “BIRDs” (look for the “bird” logo!) for details. Or you head over to our Donation Page.
