When: Apr 09 2022 12:30PM – 3:30PM
Where: Roosevelt Roller Hockey
Who: San Jose Bike Party
SJBP relies on cyclists like you to help us test the route before we launch each big event. Join us Thursday as we test the route for April’s #SpacePirates Bike Party.
Saturday, April 9. Gathering starts at 12:30pm Wheels hit the street at 1pm.
Ride leader: Enrique
Ride length: 15-ish miles
Ride pace: Casual (10-12 mph average)
Start: Roosevelt Park; 901 E. Santa Clara St @ 19th. (We’re using the roller rink address but meeting in the main park center gathering area.)
#CarDrivers: Limited onsite parking available (probably plenty for the test rides). Parking lot entry is on N 21st. Please also consider parking in the greater downtown area garages or street parking and ride your bike over.
#PublicTransitFolks: It’s a short 15 minute ride from both Diridon Station and VTA Berryessa.
Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38970450
There will be stops at each of our two prospective regroup spots. Remember to bring lights and layers…and maybe a thermos of something warm!
These small group rides are a great way to meet new people, catch up with old friends, or just get out for a social ride. While you’re pedaling, we’ll count on you to help us keep an eye out for potential route hazards. Your feedback will help us adjust the route and keep all of Bike Party safe!
Things to watch out for:
– road or bike lane construction
– hazardous railroad crossings
– poorly signed lane changes
– tricky turns
– problematic regroup spots
– notable debris in the road
– dangerous traffic patterns

Everyone is welcome to attend this event, but please, read and follow our “How We Ride” guidelines to keep everyone safe and to keep San Jose Bike Party rolling! We share the road with other vehicles and we frequently ride in the dark.
Having a great time and want to help? We’re always looking for volunteers to help guide riders at corners or to handle other tasks. Talk to any of the “BIRDs” (look for the “bird” logo!) for details. Or you head over to our Donation Page.
